Takeaways
Understanding the client: 21-Day Sprint
Uniquely formulated by Sint Moe, we had the design process divided and worked alongside the client every week, including them within each layer of tailoring their website, brand palette, and social media strategies.
Learning the deliberate choice Sint created between each step and the careful user-centric process, I had my first look into learning each facet of product design and playing a key role in creating the functional prototype of Howwego.
Initial Exploration
In the initial stages of developing the website, I knew creating a familiar webpage layout would be the most natural for our target audience. To ensure it was easy to navigate, I mainly focused on the general format interface, dividing each section by the same title, details, and infographics formula.
Creating Howwego, I wanted businesses to be enamored with group vacations. Using subtle green accents to evoke an escape from the city bustle and imagery scattered throughout inspire dream work trip locations.
Research
Working with Omar, our client, we designed a few visuals and drew inspiration from personal experience. As a manager, they understood how vital comradery was for a business, advocating for detailed customization and explanations throughout the project.
Understanding our audience we formed our foundation in conducting our research:
1) Familiarity:
How does our webpage make users feel when migrating from mainstream trip planners like Trip Advisor and Booking.com?
2) Flexibility:
What issues prevent our user base from adjusting their planned trip, and how can we accommodate these issues premetively?
3)Seamless Booking:
How do we balance giving customers control without creating a strenuous user flow for every booking?
Problem Validation
Based on our pain paints, to help businesses work together globally, I created an interactive map to showcase amenities, location, and, importantly, filters to support all forms of workers.
Additionally, we crafted a system of curating resources for an interchangeable work environment tailoring for every team's needs. This allows users to decide on important features and dates while we handle the rest.
User Personas
For instance, a team of 8 wants to share an experience away from their remote work locations and decide on an island resort. Letting users choose their "must-haves," we designed options to suit every group's work-life balance.
User Flow
Creating Howwego, I wanted businesses to be enamored with group vacations. Using subtle green accents to evoke an escape from the city bustle and imagery scattered throughout inspire dream work trip locations.
Joining Howwego, businesses can browse through curated experiences and past reviews all in one motion. Users can discover possible amenities and locations as they progress and assemble their perfect getaway.
Key Insights & Reflection
Working with a client for the first time and creating the entire website step by step was honestly overwhelming. The doubt, thankfully, washed away when I built momentum and chatted directly with the team. Although far from perfect, guidance from everyone was crucial in creating the functioning prototype of Howwego.
Reflecting on this journey, I'm incredibly grateful for the lessons learned at Fundada Labs, including learning Framer during our 21-day sprint.
